6 September – Supreme Court (Constitution Bench) delivered a landmark judgment in Navtej Singh Johar vs. Union of India [2018] 7 SCR 379. – Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, in so far as it criminalises consensual sexual conduct between adults of the same sex, was held unconstitutional.
